Golf Haven golf simulator in Boston

Golf Haven, just outside Boston, describes itself as Lincolnshire's biggest indoor golf facility, and with five TrackMan simulator bays under one roof it is easy to see why. It is a welcoming place for every sort of golfer, from children picking up a club for the first time to regulars who want to keep their game ticking over through the winter.

TrackMan is the same launch monitor many of the world's best players rely on, and here it opens up a library of more than 400 courses, St Andrews and Wentworth among them. You can play a full round, pick a few favourite holes, or simply hit balls and study the numbers.

The pricing is one of the friendliest you will find. A bay costs £15 an hour for one person, rising gently to £45 for a group of four, so a full bay works out at a little over £11 each. Better still for families, children aged 8 and under play free with a paying adult, and there are junior tees and games to keep younger players interested.

There is no need to own clubs, as sets are available to borrow; if you bring your own, they just need to be clean to protect the screens. Trainers are fine. Hot and cold drinks and snacks are on sale, and while the venue does not sell alcohol, you are welcome to bring your own, as long as you take the empties home with you.

If you would like to improve, PGA-certified instructors offer lessons. For something bigger, the whole venue can be booked for a work outing or a social do of up to 57 people, which makes it a handy option for a team day or a celebration.

The website shows opening hours of 10am to 9pm. It gives a postcode rather than a full street address, so it is worth checking directions before your first visit.
