Chapel Golf Club Swing Studio golf simulator in Chapel-en-le-Frith

At Chapel-en-le-Frith in the High Peak, Chapel Golf Club has given its golfers a warm, dry escape with its indoor simulator Swing Studio. It is a thoughtful addition for a Peak District club, meaning a wet or windy day no longer has to be a lost one.

The studio is built around a FlightScope Mevo+ launch monitor, which measures each shot, including ball spin, and shows it straight away in 3D, so you can see exactly what the ball did and why. When you fancy a change from practice, the system lets you play some of the world's best-known courses in high definition, in a range of formats: a simple strokeplay round, a matchplay contest with a friend, a four-ball, or a tournament. It is just as useful for a quiet hour of practice as it is for a bit of friendly competition.

Coaching is at the heart of it. The club professional uses the studio for lessons, and having instant numbers and pictures of every swing makes it much easier to understand what is working and what needs attention. For golfers who have been meaning to sort out a slice or find a few more yards, it is a good place to start.

The club keeps the details simple: to book or to find out more, you contact the professional directly, either by phone on 01298 812118 or by email at [email protected]. Prices, opening times and the number of players a session suits are not published on the website, and it does not say whether you need to be a member, so it is worth asking those questions when you get in touch.

If you live in the High Peak and want somewhere close to home to keep your game going through the winter, this friendly club studio is well worth a call.
